The third part in The God’s Not Dead series is entitled; God’s Not Dead ~ A Light in Darkness. A soul-searching drama that challenges the viewer how to navigate this politically correct charged society, deal with family forgiveness and how the of money, power and prestige can lead many down selfish paths and taking the spiritual high road. As Christians we must always remember that we are in this world but not of it.

The Mark 2: Redemption is the sequel to The Mark that we watched in October. Revelation 1:3 says; "Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near." So it is with watching movies like this ~ they are powerful and keep everything that is happening in our world today in perspective.

September & October 2018

There were four movies that we watched; the first was a musical entitled The Covenant - The Story of My People. Written by Elizabeth & Robert Muren it was filmed in Jerusalem and highlights the birth of the Jewish nation through Abraham and a number of prominent Old Testament stories thru the New Testament and into modern day Israel. Very well done.

Based on the powerful song, I Can Only Imagine, the movie of the life and story of MercyMe's lead singer Bart Millard will bring a heartfelt conviction of the need of a Saviour to anyone. We know there is always a story behind every song, but this song in particular not only was a favorite in the evangelical community but also the secular. Very powerful.

There are many movies on the life of Jesus, and this one was much the same, except for the fact that it was the first-ever, word-for-word unedited movie adaptation of The Gospel of Mark. Excellent! The actors were well chosen and didn't look like the typical Hollywood version. We like it for the fact that the Producers didn't add any other verbiage to the gospel account. A must see.

II Peter 3:4 says this; "They will say, "Where is this 'coming' he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation." Many Christians are losing sight of the second coming of Jesus Christ where he raptures his bride - the church - with the seven years of tribulation that will follow. The Mark is another rendition or interpretation of the last days. Revelation 1:3 says; "Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near." So it is with watching movies like this ~ they are powerful and keep everything that is happening in our world today in perspective.

A.D. The Bible Continues.  As you've been reading our Illustrated Message Series on Holy Spirit Power, We decided to watch again this television miniseries which is based on the Bible, done by Roma Downey and Mark Brunett, albeit has a lot of Hollywood interpretations added in. It focuses on the works of the disciples in the Book of Acts. For the most part it gives a good general overview of what transpired but one needs to go the Bible itself, read along, to be able to see what is truth and what the Directors have added for marketability.
